- Obituary:
He was the son of Luther "Dub" and Verla (Sharp) Cantrell. His father worked for an oil company so they lived in various places while he was growing up. He had lived in McAlester for more than 40 years. He helped with the family cattle operation and did odd jobs most of his life. He was a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Hugh Low Cemetery in Scipio with Lyle Sharp officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
