This Indenture... between THOMAS MARSH and WALTER FARR, both of the County of
Cabarrus and State of N. Carolina.... for two hundred pounds...a tract of land
lying and being in Cabarrus, N.C., Lying on Oldwell Creek Beginning at a stone
corner thence North Twenty six East one hundred and sixteen poles to a large
red oak thence North eighty four East eighty one poles to a white oak. Thence
North nineteen west Twenty one poles to a small red oak thence North Sixty Six
West one hundred and seven poles Thence north seventy seven west one hundred
poles on the Creek to a small black Jack Thence South forty five West Sixty
One East one hundred and ninety five poles crossing the sd. Creek to the
Beginning... containing one hundred forty four acres by survey. Likewise sixty
acres of land beginning at a red oak near the above mentioned land on a small
branch and runs south seventy five West eighty poles to a white oak thence
South eighty five west Seventy Six poles to a Branch South thirty eight East
fifty poles crossing said branch Three times to a black oak thence south ten
west sixty South seven two East twenty poles crossing said branch Three times
to a black oak thence south seventy two poles crossing said branch thence a
white oak thence North fifty three east eighty poles to a stake thence to the
beginning...all appurtenances belonging....Hereto THOMAS MARSH, and ELIZABETH,
his wife, have set their hands, and seals.

THIS INDENTURE Made this 20th day of Decr. 1824 Between ROBERT ELLIOTT of the one part and BENJAMIN ASHCRAFT of the other part both of the County of Anson and State of North Carolina. WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of the
sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by sd. ASHCRAFT hath bargained and sold & conveyed unto the said ASHCRAFT heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land on the Wt. side of Lane's Creek a part of two hundred acre survey granted to Ebenezer Marsh Beginning at the second corner post oak WM. ASHCRAFT'S corner then No. 74 Et. 24 chains in or near JOHN ELLIOT'S line then No. 25 Et. 8 chains and 20 links to a post oak near JOHN ELLIOTT'S corner then No. 40 Wt. 6 chs. & 50 links to a stake red oak and pine pointers then N. 17 chs. to a pine then So. 82 Wt. 15 chs. to a stake then So. 20 Wt. as far as will include one hundred acres of land to sd. BENJAMIN ASHCRAFT his heirs and assigns forever and I the sd. Robert Elliott do bind myself my heirs Exers. Admrs. or assigns to warrant and forever defend sd land from the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever except RILEY WARRICKS & ISAAC MARSH & WILLIE HARDEN. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal

Levy on Land: March 12th 1839. Judgment against the defendants for the sum of
seventeen dollars and 5 cts debt with interest from October 1838 cost 8/- N.

State of North Carolina, Anson County. To any lawful officer of said County:
You are hereby commanded to execute or sell so much of the goods & chattels of
Jacob Shipman as will satisfy a Judgment rendered against him on 12th day of
March 1839 before N. Bevins Justice of the Peace for said County in favor of
Solomon Marsh for the sum of seventeen dollars 50 cents as per statement
annexed and for want of of Goods & Chattels that you levy on the lands &
tenements of the defendant and return the same to the County Court according
to act of assembly witness my hand & seal this 9th day of April 1839
